A career forged from a passion

Alex Troutman is a wildlife biologist. He has several years of experience in the field, working with various Wildlife species including endangered Species like Kemp’s ridley (Lepidochelys kempii) sea turtles and Karner Blue butterflies (Lycaeides melissa samuelis).

​

Currently Alex is a graduate student studying The Dynamics of Avian and Insect Species in Tidal Wetlands.


Alex shares wildlife facts and photos on social media as N8ture AL, in his free time Alex enjoys using his passion for nature to encourage youth to enjoy the outdoors

He understands whats it like to grow up without â€œwildlife role models “ who looked like you. He dedicates time to fulfilling that representation for future generations of Black or POCs (people of color) scientists, endeavoring to instill similar passion by leading groups on nature hikes and through public speaking engagements.

Alex earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Georgia Southern University. After a few years as a professional biologist he returned to Georgia Southern to pursue his masters of science degree.

Whenever he is not traveling the world working with wildlife, Alex resides in resides in Austell, GA, with his dog Bella.
